In my world outside of academia, I'm a proud aunt to 17-yr old Jackson, twin 6 year olds - Bennett and Brady - and soon to turn 4 (on 5/22) niece Olivia!
I also brought new four legged companions into my life in February of 2023 - Cavachons (1/2 Bichon and 1/2 King Charles Spaniel) - brother and sister Chai & Latte - the pupcups. I've added a gallery for Chai & Latte as little puppies (need to update!) but I've also kept one for the puptarts - Cupcake (10/29/19) and Twinkie (12/20/21). They lived to the ages of 15.9 and 18.1, respectively. They both made me the dog mom I am today. I try not to compare pupcaps to puptarts too much, but sometimes it's unavoidable. They do all share my deepest love. |
![]() I designed this website as a gateway into the aspects of my academic life from chocolate education to teaching biology and researching the ecology, diversity and distribution of apple snails.
As my chosen career path, I teach & research with undergraduates at Southwestern University. I started teaching with chocolate in 2005. This small curiosity sparked a professional interest & hobby in chocolate. At every opportunity, I spend my leisure and travel time studying and interacting with the world of fine chocolate. I consider "to chocolate" or "chocolating" both verbs. When not traveling, I enjoy reading, binging Netflix (historical fiction mostl) and spending time outdoors with puppies, friends and family. |
